Dear Moyles Court Families,

We were very sorry to hear the recent news regarding the closure of Moyles Court School. Our thoughts are very much with the pupils, families and staff affected during what will understandably be an unsettling time. As a close-knit, family school ourselves, we would like to help support families through this transition in a calm, thoughtful and personal way. To assist families who may now be considering their next steps, we would like to offer the following:

Family Ethos

Given the similarities between our schools in ethos and approach, we believe that many children from Moyles Court would feel both comfortable and confident within our community. Like Moyles Court, we are very much a family school at heart. We pride ourselves on knowing every child as an individual. Our smaller size allows us to provide a nurturing environment where pupils quickly feel part of the community and are supported both academically and pastorally. In a similar way to parents and staff at Moyles Court, we believe that a challenging, inspiring and nurturing environment brings out the best in every child, allowing them to flourish and fulfil their potential.

Fee Assurance

We will match your current school fees for the next two academic years until July 2028, providing certainty and helping to ease the financial impact of an unexpected move. We also have a generous and supportive bursary and scholarship programme to help support both new and existing families.

Transport Support

We operate a dedicated school bus service from Ringwood and surrounding areas making Durlston more accessible for families and supporting a smooth daily routine. Minibus transport is free to those families living more than 10 miles from Durlston (don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss our flexible service).

A Personalised Transition

We are offering individual visits, meetings with senior staff, and tailored transition plans to ensure that each child feels welcomed, supported and confident from their very first day. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we would take the time to understand your child, their interests and their needs, ensuring they are supported from the very start. We are very used to pupils starting at any time during the year, so, if Durlston is your choice, we can work with you to discuss the most appropriate time for your child or children to join our school: this could be within days, weeks or at the start of the academic year.

GCSE Options

If your child is in Year 10, or in Year 9 considering options for next year, we will talk to you individually about exam boards or option choices; Mr Lack, Deputy Head (Academic) is working with families to find individual solutions. Through our indepth knowledge of exam board and subject components we have been able to compare and anaylise each subject to deliver a bespoke plan for each child. To find out more please send your child's option choices to [email protected] and we will contact you to discuss a bespoke timetable.

Alternatively you can request an information guide here.

Next steps

If you would like to arrange a visit, find out more or speak with a member of our team, we would be very pleased to hear from you. We understand that this is a significant decision for your family, and we are here to help in any way we can. Please contact Lisa Lilley: [email protected] DD: 01425 626232

At Durlston School, the most powerful insights come from the families who experience our community every day. Their reflections capture the warmth, ambition and sense of belonging that define the school, offering a genuine picture of what it feels like for children to learn and grow here.
This collection of parent voices brings those experiences together – honest, personal reflections that highlight what makes Durlston such a special place.
